The latest of the babe

I had a doctor's appointment today, and they did an ultrasound- which I always love. I also got a couple 3D shots so that was a lot of fun. We will see how he changes in the next 13 or so weeks. Even though this is my 4th baby, I am still amazed at every ultrasound and every time I feel him kick. It's just so crazy there is a real live baby growing in there.

Pretty crazy stuff! Things are moving right along and looking great (the baby is looking great that is. Me on the other hand- tired and chubby). Less than 3 months to go. We set a tentative birth date for him at my appointment (the only good thing about a c-section) and June 28th is the big day. We are excited!

I love Dallin's imagination. He is definitely my creative child. He is really good at coming up with things to do and entertaining himself- which most of the time is good- other times... not so much. Lately the kids have been watching "Wild Kratts" on PBS (or Wild Craps as Dallin says). It is a pretty cute show where they learn about animals. In the show they wear "creature power suits" (at least I think that is what they are called). So one day Dallin gets out the paper, scissors, and scotch tape (that kid has been through countless rolls of scotch tape) and makes himself a killer creature power suit. I think he was a gliding lizard. He wore it for a couple hours- even riding his bike and running around outside with the neighborhood kids.
Didn't he do a nice job on the goggles? Yes, they are scotch taped to his head. And yes, he does still have his lunch on his face.
That evening they watched another episode, this time about an octopus. So, the next day it was an octopus creature power suit. Awesome! I asked him if he wanted to make his mask a little smaller, but he said "No, I want to surprise all my friends playing outside, they won't even know who I am!" I think he really did surprise them when he went outside to play. He wore that "power suit" for quite sometime too. But octopi don't do too well on trampolines. There were lots of purple bits of tentacles blowing around the backyard after a while.
He cracks me up! I have to admit, I feel really sad about sending him to kindergarten next year- all day, 5 days a week. He's my little buddy. I told him this and asked him if he would consider staying home he said "No Mom, but I promise to still love you and listen to you when I come home from school." I guess I'll have to take what I can get.

Yes... another dress

I've been meaning to sew Brooke a dress out of this fabric (for like a year now), and finally got around to it. Don't you love the colors? I think it turned out pretty darn cute, and I made it long enough so she can wear it next year (a definite plus). I used a pattern then added my own little finishing touches. Brooke liked how it turned out too- she was happy to be my model today.

It's a good "spinning" dress, so Brooke was happy about that.
Here's a little bit of a different look, with the little tie around the waist.
Isn't she cute? She's my little sweetheart.

Easter Preview

Spring is almost here, and I am very excited to have my kids start wearing "springy" clothes. My boys' Easter outfits are green, navy, and white; so I decided to have Brooke wear her Easter dress from last year (yes, it still fits- just a little shorter) and make her a bow and sash to match her brothers. I am really excited about how they turned out. And it was fun to get away from her usual colors.

Waiting for Spring

I've been on a bit of a sewing kick lately. (I'll have to take pictures of my other projects too sometime.) Here is the dress I finished today. It's pretty "springy," so Brooke is going to have to wait awhile until she can wear it outside- bummer! I think it turned out pretty cute, I got my inspiration from a Shabby Apple Girls dress Except it only cost me $8 (not the $37)- gotta love that!

Now, we just need a little bit of spring weather to come our way.
