The Big Move

The last month has been a CRAZY one for our family.  Just to backtrack a little... after Aaron finished grad school almost 2 years ago he started looking around for other jobs, he got another promotion at work, but nothing he was too excited about.  Charter's headquarters are in St. Louis MO, and for any further advancement with the company, we would have to relocate there.  I can't say I was too excited about that idea.  A year ago we spent some time in Boise and thought "hmmm... we like it here, maybe we should try to move here."  Fast forward one year (just last month), Aaron has an interview with Micron in Boise, gets a job offer a few days later.  They want him to start in 3 weeks, so we get our house on the market- it gets 2 offers in the first 2 days.  The movers come, and we were on our way to Boise.  It all happened so fast and everything has gone surprisingly smooth- a few minor bumps along the way, but everything has been falling into place.  We now have an offer in on a house in Meridian ID, and it should close by the first week of November.  Crazy stuff!
Micron payed to have movers pack and load all of our junk.  Nice!
It's pretty exciting stuff to have a semi parked outside of your house- at least my boys thought so.
It was hard to say good bye to all of our friends.  We had been in Vancouver over 7 years and have made some really great friends.
My boys' best friends.  They/we miss them a lot.

Good bye home in Vancouver!
Now we are on our next adventure of making Idaho our home.  It still hasn't sunk in that we aren't going back to Vancouver.  I am hoping that once we get settled into a house it will start feeling a little more real (right now we are staying in a furnished apartment Micron has provided for us).  We'll see what the future holds for us...

Our little Quentin

Our little Quentin is growing so quickly!  He's such a sweet little guy and has been very patient with all of the craziness that has been happening in our lives.

He loves his "big boy" baths.
He's also pretty content just to chill out.  What a little sweetie!

Check out that chubbiness!  He's my chunkiness baby yet.  I love it!

Back to School

I am a little behind on posts...  But almost a month ago Tanner and Dallin started school at Fircrest.  Dallin started kindergarten (whole day- woohoo!) and Tanner started 2nd grade.  They only went to about 2 weeks of school at Fircrest- because of our move, but it was a pretty awesome 2 weeks.
Dallin has been waiting and waiting to be a kindergartener.
I love the huge backpacks, they make me smile.

He's getting so big!

The boys now go to Trail Wind Elementary in Boise.  No more full day kindergarten- both Dallin and I are sad about this.  It looks like we should be moving in about a month from our temporary housing, so the boys will have their 3rd first day of school this year.  Poor boys!

Our Cub Scout

One of the coolest things about being an 8 year old boy is being able to go to cub scouts.  Tanner was so excited to be in cub scouts.  His grandparents got all of his cub scout supplies for his birthday.  He loves it!

Make-up Artist

Brooke LOVES make-up.  She always wants me to put some on her.  We even pretend to put make-up on her during church to keep her busy.  She did this lovely makeover on herself with water color paint.  She thought she looked beautiful.

A Special Day

Tanner was baptized on August 6th.  It was a very special day for him and for our family.  He is getting so old!  I can't believe he is 8 years old!  He has been waiting and waiting to be baptized.  He was very ready to make that decision.  He has a sweet little testimony and loves to learn about the gospel.

Quentin was also blessed on the 6th.  Since our family was in town we decided to have him blessed right after the baptism.  He is such a sweet little baby, the perfect completion to our family.

Grandma and Grandpa Widing came for the special day.  Grandma Widing gave the talk about baptism.

Grandma and Grandpa Van Gieson came, and even brought Kylee and Maquel with them.  Grandma gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.

We are so proud of Tanner and the good choices he has made!

2 months!

Our little man is over 2 months now!  Where has the time gone?  He's been such a joy lately.  I love teeny snuggly newborns, but I really love the eye contact and huge smiles that start at a couple of month old.  I love it that he gets so excited when I talk to him- kicking his legs and waving his arms.  It just never gets old.  We just love this little guy- and he has been so patient with us and we pack and clean and deal with a whole lot of craziness preparing for our big move.

Quentin had his 2 month check-up this week, he's turning into quite the chunkaroo.  He is also my first non-bobble head baby.  His head percentage matches the rest of him!

Length: 23.5" (69th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs. (76th percentile)
Head Circumference: 41 cm (73rd percentile)
