4th of July Week

We had a very busy and very fun 4th of July week.  We decided to head to Washington for a visit since Sara and her family were there visiting from France, as well as Stacie and her kiddos.  Our first stop was Ensign Ranch in Cle Elum.  Some of the VGs were staying there for the weekend and since it was on the way, we made a pit stop to play and have dinner.

They had a really fun giant slip n slide that everyone loved.  Quentin couldn't get enough.

Getting ready for the puddle with her eyes covered.

I think Tanner was the "weak link" in this chain. :)

We really miss being so close to the ocean so we decided to make a day trip to Ocean Shores.  My parents, Sara, and Stacie came (along with all the kids.)  It was very windy but still a lot of fun.

Tanner got his to fly.

Quentin wanted to be in the water with Aaron the whole time.  When Aaron tried going in the water without him he just stood on the shore and cried.  He's a daddy's boy for sure!

It was warmer than usual in Western Washington for some of the week, so we had to find a way to stay cool.  Good thing Grandpa has a lot of tarps!  The biggest hit was filling the garbage can with water and getting in.

We had a big party for the 4th at Jeremy and Jenny's home.  Tons of family, tons of food, and tons of fireworks.  Not much more you could ask for.  It was so much fun!

They had a cul-de-sac that was perfect for firework set up.

Pinata time!

The kids were having a hard time breaking open the pinata, so Rod did the next best thing...
Put a firecracker in its rear end and blew it up.  It was pretty awesome and the kids thought it was great.  And luckily no one was harmed by flying candy.
The kids (and adults) had a lot of fun playing games.

Getting ready for the firework show.  The guys had a pretty good set up to light off all the mortars- they had a couple of boards with the stands drilled to them.  It was a pretty impressive show!

We also had a girls afternoon with Grandma Widing, Brooke, Sara, and Kylee up at the American Girl Doll Store and Bistro.  It was a lot of fun to see the store and spend time with just the girls.

Brooke did manage to talk Grandma into getting Sunna a new outfit.  Grandma is a sucker for doll clothes :)

Quentin is 2!

Our Quenty boy is 2! His birthday was the day before we left for Washington, so we kept things pretty low key.  We went to Red Robin and had birthday cake at home.  Quentin wasn't too sure about all the singing and attention.

The candles and singing made him a little nervous and embarrassed.
Everyone was excited about Quentin's presents!
Quentin is such a fun little guy and we love having him in our family.  Here are a few things about about Quentin at 2:

~He loves his Dad and loves to be crazy with him- getting tossed in the air, wrestling, etc.
~He's turned into a picky eater, but I can always count on him to eat fruit and candy.
~He thinks he's a big boy and wants to be involved with all the things the older kids do.
~He's still not too much of a talker, but understands a lot.
~He's very affectionate and loves giving hugs and kisses.
~He loves balls and has quite the arm.
~"Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" is his favorite song and he goes crazy when we sing it to him.
~He is still very mischievous and gets into everything.
~He is very easy to make laugh.
